The Elmore County Emergency Management Agency focuses on cultivating relationships to ensure the delivery of resources when incidents arise that affect our citizens. One example of this is the relationship developed with the Volunteer Organizations Assisting with Disasters or VOAD.
VOAD includes a network of groups that can effectively be deployed for short and long term recovery missions. With the preliminary damage assessments of the tornado path being completed in the city and unincorporated areas of the county, the VOAD workers have been deployed to address the needs of the affected residents.
Should you be interested in volunteering in the future, check into how you or your group can join the VOAD organization.
For individuals and groups seeking to assist impacted citizens now, consider donating to the Elmore County Disaster Relief Fund. Donations can be made at any of the branches of First Community Bank, Primesouth Bank, or River Bank and Trust or online through the Central Alabama Community Foundation at http://www.cacfinfo.org.
