Elmore County EMA and Highway Department complete initial assessments of tornado damage

Initial damage assessments were conducted today to gauge the impacts of the EF2 tornado that ripped through portions of northern Elmore County. Currently, 45 structures received some level of damage including several that were totally destroyed. According to the County’s EMS provider, there were no reported injuries or transports to local hospitals as a result of the tornado.

This weekend various VOAD groups will be assisting affected residents to remove debris and meet other needs. After the weekend activities, opportunities to volunteer in the future will be announced after individual needs are reassessed.

Currently no donations of clothing, water, or other tangible items are being accepted. Anyone who is interested in donating is requested to make donations to the Elmore County Disaster Relief Fund.
