During the annual ACCA Convention in August, the Elmore County Commission received a Safety Award for the lowest loss ratio over the last three years. The county has undertaken many safety initiatives during the last year to improve the environment our employees and citizens work and live in.
The county commission has created and implemented a new Policy and Procedures manual; created the position and hired a Director of Insurance, Safety and Human Resources; made many upgrades to county facilities; the county Emergency Management Agency conducted and participated in many preparedness courses and exercises; the county Information Technology department upgraded software to help protect against cyber attacks and implemented continuing education for cyber training; and the county Highway Department completed efforts to develop the state’s first Local Road Safety Plan.
The county continues to focus on developing and implementing safety practices to ensure a safe environment for our employees and citizens.
