Recently, the governor’s office announced the recipients of the FY 2021 ALEA Homeland Security grants. Six (6) different agencies within the county were selected to receive this grant which is more than any other county in the state for the second year in a row. The monies received from the grant will be used for additional radio equipment, video conferencing systems, light towers, and pedestrian safety equipment for group gatherings in the Elmore County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Sheriff’s Department, Tallassee Police and Fire Departments, Eclectic Fire Department, and Prattville Police Department. The grants total $264,703.00 for all departments.
