The Elmore County Highway Department recently received a High Risk Rural Roads (HRRR) award from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) totaling $252,578.54 for safety widening on Marshell Road from Firetower Road to Redland Road. This safety project will occur in conjunction with an additional project funded by the Montgomery Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) to resurface and traffic stripe the entire stretch of Marshell Road. Work is scheduled to occur in mid 2021.
