The Elmore County Commission hosted the Dedication Ceremony of its newly constructed Charters of Freedom at the Wetumpka Civic Center on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. This project started in 2019 as an Eagle Scout project by Rhett Pinkston. Once approval was given from the County Commission to place this setting on the courthouse grounds, construction planning began. Although construction of the setting encountered several hurdles including COVID-19, the setting has now been completed and is available for viewing at the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Wetumpka.
