On August 5, 2021, Elmore County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) hosted a Disaster Preparedness Training for elected officials throughout the county.  This training was focused on the role of a elected official or senior leader’s role in the National Incident Management System (NIMS).  The objectives were to explain the NIMS structure, Incident Command System, Emergency Operations Centers, and the Joint information System, and how all of these components are interconnected during a disaster.  This training provided the elected officials with knowledge of their role within each mentioned component.  Thanks to Jonathan Gaddy, Alabama EMA’s Assistant Director, and Rita Smith, Lee County EMA Director, for conducting this training for our elected officials.
