The county’s bridge contractor working on the Redland Road bridge replacement just off US Highway 231 will be placing girders this week. Beginning Thursday through Friday, the contractor will be setting 6 – 80 foot AASHTO Type III girders. The delivery trucks will be escorted from Birmingham and are expected on site Thursday and Friday. It will take the contractor several hours to unload and set the girders for the new bridge.
Please use extra caution when traveling through the construction zone as these delivery trucks will be present throughout the day. Law enforcement will have a presence in the area for not only the workers safety but for the safety of traveling public.
