2022 Elmore County Government Day #NCGM

The Elmore County Commission has hosted “County Government Day” for several years, but COVID-19 hindered our high school students from attending in person for the last two years. On April 21, 2022, high school seniors were able to return to in person participation. Activities included experiencing a county commission meeting, touring the downtown historic courthouse, visiting booths and receiving information from various departments and partnering agencies throughout county government.

Special demonstrations were available from the Millbrook Welcome Center, Elmore County Food Pantry, Family Sunshine Center, Wetumpka Fire Department, Elmore County Sheriff’s Special Operations Unit, and Elmore County’s Public Works Department. Students were also encouraged to register to vote if eligible.

The Elmore County Commission thanks all of the students, schools, support agencies and county employees for their part in making this day a success. We were honored to have the following schools and their students participate:

Edgewood Academy, Elmore County High School, Holtville High School, New Life Christian Academy, Stanhope Elmore High School, and Tallassee High School.
