The City of Wetumpka, the Elmore County Board of Education and the Elmore County Commission have joined forces to upgrade the Hohenburg Sports Complex. Bids for the work were received in January 2023 and awarded to Beasley Construction. Once completed this project will include two new multipurpose turf sports fields, corresponding LED field lighting, paved parking areas, and upgraded lighting for the existing grass field in the stadium. Removal of several outdated buildings and the visitor side stands will be part of the project as well. The removal of these items will allow for future expansion of the stadium field. Construction activities are slated to last into early 2024.
