Every spring, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and its partners sponsor National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) to bring attention to worker safety and mobility issues in and around work zones. The County Commission thanks all our Public Works employees for the work they do each day to improve our roadways and help keep our citizens safe. When traveling through work zones, the Commission would like to remind motorists to heed signage, be observant to traffic control personnel, and reduce speeds when work is ongoing.
